Washing your Shock Socks

Step 1 Several websites list Shock Covers as being "machine washable" and we're not sure why. It just seems like a really dumb way to lose your Shock Covers when washing them by hand is the only thing that makes sense.
Step 2 The following is our solution to washing your Shock Covers. We have used this method since the very beginning and it works well.  All you need is a small plastic container or butter carton with an air tight lid, a teaspoon or less of laundry detergent (depending on the size of container you use) and hot water from the faucet.
Step 3 Fill the container half-way with hot water, add laundry detergent (liquid or powder) and toss in your crusty Shock Socks.  Seal the lid to the container and shake the heck out of it.  For heavily soiled Shock Socks you may want to let them sit in the container for 5 to 10 minutes and rub them together before shaking a second time. Drain the soapy water and refill with fresh water, shake for about a minute.
Step 4 Remove the Shock Socks and run them under the faucet to remove any excess soap. Squeeze the remaining water from your Shock Socks and lay 'em out to dry on a towel or in the sun. Do not assemble your Shock Socks onto your shocks until you are sure they are completely dry.  We do not recommend using a clothes dryer and they are not microwavable!  Generously re-coat your Shock Covers with ScotchgardTM for the best protection.
